New this week: We finished getting the beds cleaned up and have made a garden plan; we planted a variety of chinese cabbages, bok choi, and lettuce; containers have been planted with peas & cabbage in the “container bed;” and we planted yukon gold potatoes.
The radishes that were planted last week have sprouted.
Notice, there is a “till vs. no till” bed. No till farming is a type of conservation farming that prepares the land for farming without mechanically disturbing the soil, and utilizes crop residue from the previous season to prevent erosion & increase water retention. In preparation for this demonstration, our “till” bed has been tilled, and “no till” bed has not been tilled.
Next week the key hole gardens & 3 sisters will be installed.
